Would you believe that I get FAQ? NO! it doesn’t seem right does it!
What should we wear in our photoshoot?
I always suggest something that you feel comfortable. During your shoot you may be sitting or standing or straddling any kind of object I see fit, so make sure you can move without popping a button! I recommend to steer clear of T-shirts with big logos and or prints on them. Patterns is fine and so are block colours. Have a think about what you are intending to wear. Are you going to look back in 10-20 years at this photo hanging on your wall and wonder why you chose to wear that?
For baby shoots if parents of other siblings are in family photos, then it is a good idea to do a similar hue. Black is always going to look good, and generally white.
How long do I need to wait until my photos are ready?
The photo processing takes between 2-4weeks. If you have ordered prints too, there may be another 2-3 weeks wait after.
I am not very confident doing my own make-up. Can I get my make-up done before a photoshoot with you?
Yes. For an additional fee I can arrange to have a fully qualified hair and make-up artist do you up prior to your session. This will just help to enhance the over all finished product of your photos but isn’t essential to having a photoshoot.
Do you retouch any of the images?
Yes I do. I don’t go to over board with the retouching. It is all natural and generally goes un-noticed. So if you wake up the morning of the shoot with a red blemish, no need to panic, I can take care of it.
I have really bad tan lines, can you fix them up?
No. I would suggest a spray tan, or lots of bronzer on the pale areas. I can do a small amount to fix that, but not completely fix it. So if you have half way fixed it, then I can make small adjustments to do the rest.
Can you make me look really skinny in the photos?
Yes I can. Will I? No. I am happy to suck in a tuck shop arm, muffin top or double chin here and there. I want the photos that you get back to reflect YOU. So when you show your friends and family they don’t say ‘wow that doesn’t even look like you’.
Can you fix up my long or wonky nose.
Yes I can. Again, I tend not to, unless its just been broken the week before and it is really out of whack. If I change your nose, then it won’t look like you….think Michael Jackson…or not.
When do I pay for my photo shoot?
On the day of your shoot, you will need to make payment. You can pay cash, direct transfer or paypal. If you are asking about wedding photos, a 25% deposit is to be paid upon booking your appointment. Then the remaining amount is to be paid in full when you receive all the photos 4-6weeks after your wedding. This is all outlined in more detail in the wedding pricing page.
I really hate having my photo taken, will you tell me what to do so the photos look nice?
Yes, yes and yes! That is my job. If I had a dollar for every time I heard this one… Do you think you’re the first person who has asked this question? If you are wanting a posey type look, I can tell you what to do. If you are wanting a ‘natural look’ I can direct you on what to do to achieve this look. Please keep in mind though, that there are certain things I will need to tell you do to even if you want a natural look. For instance, it is pretty rare that I don’t have to make some head adjustments to hide double chins. I will guide you through it though so no need to get worked up about practicing all your zoolander poses prior to your session.
I hate smiling for photos. How do you want me to smile?
I have had so many clients over the years who have hated their smile for what ever reason. Be it crooked teeth, discoloured teeth, missing teeth etc. I am more than happy to do the ‘serious look’ through out all of the shoot, however if you do crack a smile I will also click away. The natural smiles are always the best. Remember you don’t have to smile showing you teeth with a big cheesy grin! Its up to you which photos you want to use at the end, but I do prefer to capture a range of smiling and serious just so that I have covered all bases.
How many photos do I get?
This is covered in more detail in the specific session information. Generally for an hour long shoot for family, baby etc you could expect anywhere from 20-40 fully retouched final images. I have extensive back ground training in choosing the best photos from the session and will always do everything I can to get the most out of your session. I would automatically get rid of any blinky shots, silly faces (unless specifically asked to be kept in) or if people have gotten in the background etc.
